Beyond Manavgat, on the way to Alanya
Once the D400 has left Manavgat behind, the coast feels different from the busy strip around Side. The hotels are big and spaced out, the beaches long and open, with farmland between the resorts. Kızılağaç is the first of these eastern resorts, followed by Kızılot and then Çenger as you continue towards Alanya. Hotels here are sometimes marketed under Side, sometimes under Manavgat; geographically, they are east of both.
People who choose Kızılağaç usually want a resort holiday with room to breathe: large all-inclusive hotels, long stretches of sand, and few distractions in walking distance. Side’s old town is a drive away rather than a stroll, which suits some guests very well and others less so. If you like the idea of a quiet base with day trips in two directions — Side and Manavgat to the west, Alanya to the east — it is a good spot.
Why it costs €60 rather than €50
From Antalya Airport to Side is 65 km. Kızılağaç is about 80 km, so every trip there is roughly fifteen kilometres longer each way, plus the stretch of D400 through or around Manavgat, which is one of the busier parts of the road. The Economy fare is therefore €60 per vehicle, and the larger cars follow the same steps: €65 for the seven-seat Standard van, €70 for the VIP van, €75 for the sixteen-seat minibus.
As everywhere on this site, the price is for the whole vehicle, not per person, and it is fixed when you book. A family of four in the Economy van pays €15 each; a group of twelve in the minibus pays a little over €6 each.
The final stretch to your hotel
The car follows the D400 for the whole journey. After the Side turn, where most of the other transfer traffic leaves the main road, it carries on into Manavgat, crosses the river and continues east. Within a few minutes the town gives way to fields and the resort signs start to appear on the seaward side. The hotels are reached by short roads leading down from the D400 towards the beach, and the driver stops at the barrier to give your name before pulling up at reception.
Allow about 70 minutes from the airport in normal traffic. Midweek nights can be quicker; summer Saturday afternoons, with hotels all along the coast changing guests, can add twenty minutes or so, mostly on the approach to Manavgat.
Day trips: Alanya one way, Side the other
Kızılağaç is the Side-coast resort best placed for Alanya, which is around 45 km further east along the D400. A day there usually starts at the castle on its rocky headland, with the walls climbing the hill and a wide view over two bays. Below it are the harbour, the octagonal Red Tower, the Damlataş cave and Cleopatra Beach. The driver can drop you in the morning and collect you after dinner, or stay with you for the day.
- Manavgat — just back along the road, for market day on Monday, a river cruise or lunch by the waterfall
- Side — the ancient city, its harbour and the Temple of Apollo at sunset, a short drive beyond Manavgat
- Green Lake — the turquoise reservoir behind the Oymapınar dam, in the hills inland
- Aspendos — the Roman theatre, further west, good on the way to or from Antalya
Each of these is priced before you set off, with the option of the driver waiting or coming back for you at a set time.
Getting back to the airport in good time
Kızılağaç is one of the longer return trips we drive to Antalya, so it pays to be generous. For an international flight, leave the hotel three and a half to four hours before departure: about seventy minutes on the road, a margin for traffic in Manavgat, the security screening at the terminal entrance, and the usual two hours or so inside the airport. On a summer Saturday, take the four-hour end of that range.
An extra half-hour at the airport is a coffee. Half an hour too few is a sprint.
Antalya or Gazipaşa?
Some guests in the eastern resorts look at Gazipaşa-Alanya airport because the name sounds closer. For Kızılağaç it is not: Gazipaşa lies beyond Alanya, further from the hotel than Antalya is, and it has far fewer international routes. If your flight does use Gazipaşa, we can still drive you; just ask, and we quote the price when you book.

Questions people ask us
What are the fares to Kızılağaç for each vehicle?
Economy, for up to four with luggage, is €60. The seven-seat Standard van is €65, the six-seat VIP van €70, and the Sprinter minibus, with sixteen seats, €75. Each price is for the vehicle, one way.
Why is Kızılağaç more expensive than Side?
It is about fifteen kilometres further from the airport, beyond Manavgat. The extra distance and time add €10 to every vehicle class.
Is Gazipaşa Airport closer to Kızılağaç?
No. Gazipaşa is east of Alanya, which puts it further from Kızılağaç than Antalya Airport. We can still arrange a Gazipaşa transfer on request.
Can you take us to Alanya for the day?
Yes. Alanya is around 45 km east. The driver can drop you and return at an agreed time, or wait while you visit the castle and the harbour. The price is agreed at booking.
What time should we leave Kızılağaç to catch our flight?
Between three and a half and four hours before an international departure, and the full four on Saturdays in summer. Seventy minutes of that is driving; the rest is margin for Manavgat traffic, terminal security and check-in.
How far is Side from Kızılağaç?
Side is west of Manavgat, so from Kızılağaç it is a drive rather than a walk, normally well under half an hour. We run evening trips to the old town at a price agreed in advance.
